SnowDrop Delight February

A month of angry weather, disappointments, moments of sadness and complete happiness all rolled into the shortest month of the year.

Winter weather means lashing cold rain, frost and ice-driven winds, not the weather to be out playing in, especially at our age. Power cuts and storms, but not so bad as last month.

On the 14th, Jamie’s visit brought us much happiness and father and son did get out four days in a row on the mountain bikes, two of which were sunny, but yes, cold with fleeting snow on the mountain tops. It was fun to create special meals and enjoy the wine flow, candle lit dinners and evenings chatting by the fire.

I have been especially busy creating bespoke pieces, which is always fun and rewarding. Also inspired by the Spring flowers I have been making new vases and mirrors too, so the inspiration has not been frozen by the winter weather.

Sad times this month as it was a year since my mum passed, so many memories filled my head. A year and it feels like only the other day, how time travels around us with such silence.

So as this month draws to a close the curtains of Spring are opening, and as the dark nights are fading, as we like to say in Scotland, ‘aye, the nights are fair drawing oot’.
