Low Battery Warning

Having time away from the workbench has been lovely. I had to force myself to take two days off work. The old batteries were run down so low I was pooped. To laze in bed even though it has gone eight while contemplating what mischief you are going to get up to today, having a good old stretch of the back and wriggling those toes, knowing it will be the only exercise you are going to get today. Don’t get me wrong, I love being out on the mountain bike, but when it’s blowing a hooley or drizzling, which means cold, damp drips down the back of your neck and a wet bum from the saddle, no, not for me. That’s when we hit the mountain boots, but, we have had a few days of hard frost, lovely sunshine, but frosty cold, and I know they views from the top of the hills will be beautiful and the air fresh, but, yes you see there is that but again. Is it just me, or is the thought of slipping, falling and breaking bones off-putting? Last year and the year before, I had a spell of breaking bones, and not even on the ice. I feel nervous now and can’t bear the thought of more breaks, so the hard frost put me off. On the positive side, it gives me the excuse that I always need to be lazy. Put my feet up, relax and recharge. I always need a reason not to be doing something productive at work, in the house, or outside exercising. Fortunately, over the years I have built up a small notebook of excuses for this occasion. I like the chapter ‘Winter and why you need to chill out’ . Point One clearly states you must not take any risks in the outdoors, either on bike or foot, if there has been a hard frost for two days or more. Bones take longer to heal at your age. Yes, I like point one. So, I enjoyed my much-needed relaxation/time out. I binge watch Bad Sisters, is so good, I mean, what’s not to love about a good old fashion ‘who done it’ set in fabulous Southern Irish seaside, wild swimming, lots of drinking and silly humour all wrapped around a good old swear word and soothing Irish lilt. Well, that was my two-day break. I am back into action now and excited to get orders made and shipped out, and my new designs…coming very soon.
